The chassis provides the physical structure for the hardware components to be installed into. Chassis come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours and offer a range of features. For notebook models the chassis will determine which components can be installed as the mainboard if fixed and integral to the chassis model. The specification will list the various input, outputs and connections available in the particular model you have selected.

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is responsible for the thousands of operations per second it takes to run a modern computer including the operating system, user applications and games. Faster processors allow the user to complete multiple and more complex operations at once. Games which make use of advanced physics or artificial intelligence and productivity applications take advantage of increased CPU speed and cache.

Random Access Memory (RAM) is fast access data storage where the computer stores files which are being used by the operating system, applications and games. More RAM allows more applications to be run simultaneously, faster RAM increases the speed that the data can be accessed and written. Memory can be dual, triple or quad channel depending on the motherboard and this will determine the number of RAM modules which should be installed.

The Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is an addon card which contains specialised processors and memory which is used to output and display 2D and 3D data. Gaming performance is directly linked to the relative speed and capabilities of the GPU with selected models offering different output connections and upgrade pathways. Multiple GPUs can be used in combination using AMD CrossFireX or nVidia SLi technology if supported by the Motherboard.

The Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is where your computer will store documents, videos, music, applications, and games. HDD capacity is measured in Gigabytes (1GB = 1000MB) and files can typically take from 2-5 MB for music files and photos and multiple GBs for games, large applications and HD videos. A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a new kind of drive that uses flash based memory to offer much faster read and write speeds than traditional HDDs.

The resolution of a Display refers to the number of pixels that make up the screen. The size of each pixel is therefore relative to the size and resolution of the display, with smaller pixels producing a sharper and more natural image. Standard LCD Displays are capable or reproducing 16.7 million colours, 95% Gamut RGB monitors are able to display even more making them ideal for graphic design, games and photo editing. Premium Matte displays have a special coating to improve readability in daylight and to prevent glare and reflections.

Wi-Fi refers to Wireless Local Area Networking which allows devices to communicate within a local home network. Different wireless options feature varying strength antennae, number of connections and wireless types which can affect the speed and reliability of your wireless network connection.

The Operating System (OS) is the core software that provides the graphical user interface and drivers to make use of your hardware. Different OS choices provide different features including increased data security and networking tools. OS Software can be expensive if not purchased with a new system so please ensure you select the required OS to match your specific needs and existing equipment.

The warranty includes all parts and labour with our desktop systems being serviced on-site and our notebooks with a back to base repair service.
